Tiger Encounter 6-27-10

Today we went to the Houston Aquarium for a private Tiger Encounter! It was really neat seeing the tigers up close and learning how they are trained/fed/moved around/etc. They were huge, and for once, I started to think that Lola and Bella were actually puny.

Camp pickup and Steve & Shirley's wedding 6-26-10

Brett left at 7am to head back up to Lake Livingston to pick up the girls. Normally, I would have gone too, but since we have to have every bit of Aspen's room out by Monday morning, I stayed behind to move her up to the guest bedroom. It took a LOT of moving! The girls got home and gushed about their week at camp. I did many loads of laundry, and they we all got showered and ready to head out to Sealy for Steve and Shirley's wedding. The wedding was very nice, and it was great to see a lot of Brett's family that we have not seen in a long time.

Let the shots begin 6-24-10

Brett gave me my first Lupron shot tonight. I laid down and took it in the thigh. I didn't think it would be too bad, but that sucker was pretty bad. I guess I'll just have to put up with it for the next month though. At least I have about a week before I have to go to multiple shots a day.

Astros Game 6-23-10

We finally made it to an Astros game! We had a great excuse now that we know that Jeff and Morgan have moved to Houston since Jeff is playing for the Astros! It was great to catch up with Morgan, and her son Kaden is absolutely adorable. He was so talkative and seemed right at home with us. Morgan looks great as always. Now that we know we have both moved to Houston, we can definitely hang out more often!

Sophia Rose Armstrong 6-21-10

Today I finally went to meet Sara and Dwayne's beautiful baby girl! She was adorable, and seems so much older and more aware than a two week old! It was a breathe of fresh air to see Baily and Miller around the baby and not eating her. There may be hope for Lola and Bella after all! I got to see their new house as well which was wonderful. Hopefully I'll get to see them all again soon!

Camp Cullen 6-20-10

Today we drove up to Lake Livingston to drop off the girls for their week of camp! It is so nice now that they both can go to the same camp. Aspen had her huge camo bag as usual and Lili had to go to two giant bags. They definitely were well prepared for much more than the week that they will be there.

La Fille Mal Gardee 6-18-10

Tonight Brett and I went with one of his customers and his wife to dinner at Sambuca and then to see the ballet La Mille Mal Gardee. Dinner was wonderful, and the ballet was great! We hit an Irish pub afterward and then Brett and I ended up walking for what seemed like hours to get to our car since they closed all the entrances to the parking garage except one!

Beach/Fishing Weekend in Sargent 6/11/10-6/13/10

We had a wonderful weekend at the bay house in Sargent. Friday afternoon my parents, Lili and I hit the beach while Aspen and Brett went out on the boat to fish. We all met up for dinner on the water at Sting Rae's Restaurant. We fished on the dock and my mom, Aspen, and Brett lasted a lot longer than I did! Saturday my parents, Lili, and I drove to Surfside Beach and had an excellent time finding sea creatures and playing in the waves. Aspen and Brett went out on the boat again and caught some big Red Fish! Another night of fishing. Lili and Sally went crabbing and Lili got three big ones! We took the long route home Sunday and ran back to a few of the stores in Harwin and by Coco Crepes for our annual crepe meal. Brett cooked up the fish Sunday night for dinner and it was great!

Aspen's Birthday Party 6/5/10

Aspen and her friends had a blast. Brett even let them paint his hair hot green and pink :) Scott and Amy came to hang out, and Pat, Landie, and Jay stopped by to hang out for awhile as well!

Last Day of School 6/3/10

Yay for the last day of school! A day of driving for my Mom and me. Aspen got out first and then we made the drive to Huggins. We went in to take part in the ice cream and bubbles party before taking Lili with us home. Next we had reservations for a free taste test of the new Chick-fil-A spicy chicken sandwich. Mom, Aspen, and I approved....Lili did not.

Lili's Field Day/Shopping 6/2/10

Mom and I volunteered to work at Lili's Field Day today. It was a hot one! She was so excited when we got there. I think she almost forgot that we were coming. We manned the "backward beanbag kick (or something like that)" station. It actually seemed to be a favorite of many of the kids. Lili must have hung around for the majority of the day. She was very good and legitimately beat most all of the other kids. After Field Day, we left Huggins dripping and headed down to Harwin for some cheap jewely shopping. There were a ton of stores...but the two big winners were the pashmina/scarf store and the children's bow and hat stores. Next we headed to Conroe and hit Charming Charlie and the Sam Moon stores. Charming Charlie was an awesome find and had great stuff! We almost needed a whole day to make it through the three Sam Moon stores (which we did not have), but we had a great time shopping with the time we had. Luckily Brett called to remind me what time it was and the drive we had to make in rush hour so we could make it back in time for dinner. Christine and Kim joined us for wine flights and dinner from Newks at Cork Cafe. Great pizza and great wine as usual!

Mom Comes to Houston 6/1/10

My Mom flew in today! I am so happy! She came in right before lunch and we had a great lunch at the Tea Room. We definitely ordered too much...a jalapeno chicken salad sandwich, an asparagus crepe, salads, jalapeno cheese soup, and coconut cake. We made a few quick pickup stops and then headed to the house. We were supposed to have massage appointments at Lone Star College, but one of our masseuses canceled so we had to reschedule. Mom and I cooked dinner after a walk with Amy and Renee...crab cakes and orange and avocado salad. Yum yum!

On the Boat with Chase & Christine 5/30/10

Chase and Christine came out to Cypress to spend the day with us on the lake. We had a great time tubing and skiing. Aspen and Lili made their first attempts getting up on skis and both did awesome jobs! Aspen not only got up, but stayed up for the length of the lake and made it to the outside of the wake! We were all so impressed. It made me so proud because I got in the water with the girls to hold them in place and teach them how to ski. I have my Mom and Dad to thank since they did the same thing for me when I was younger :) After the lake we all showered and hung out. There were multiple card and domino games and we all had so much fun. We played on the back porch and watched the most beautiful storm come in all around us.

Cookout at Lori & James' House 5/29/10

Today we spent the day at Lori and James house. All the kids finally got to spend some time together again, and we all hung out with great food and great drinks by the pool! It was a perfect day!
