Doctor's Appointment 7-28-11

Well all tests came back normal (urine, blood work, and blood pressure). I was negative for Group Strep B which is good as well. I was 80% effaced, but still not dilated at all. The nurse practitioner told me that once I get to 90% and 1cm, there shouldn't be any issues inducing if that's necessary. It sounds like everything is normal and going as it should! Next appointment will be next Wednesday with my Doctor.

Ultra Sound 7-25-11

Yay! Baby Elizabeth is 6.5 pounds and tracking 37 weeks and a day (and I am 36 weeks and a day today). We were a little disappointed that we didn't get any good 3D pics, but I'll post what we did get. Got a good nostril shot, haha and also a pic of the hair on the back of her head (a little bit at least).



Doctor's Appointment 7-21-11

Well after today I am left confused. Dr. Kirkman was not in the office, and my checkup was with Kathy, the Nurse Practitioner. During my exam I mentioned what Dr. Kirkman had said about assuming that I would induce around August 2nd and she was completely puzzled by that. She said that she didn't see the need for it at this point and that she was very surprised that Dr. Kirkman would suggest inducing that early. She said my cervix was not dilated at all. To make sure we all had all possible information, she had my blood drawn for tests, sent me with a 24 hour urine collection test, and scheduled a growth ultrasound for Monday. She said that these things would allow us to better evaluate the situation. I guess we'll see next week.

Baby Shower at Pat's House 7-16-11

I had a wonderful shower at Pat's house Saturday given by Lori and Landie. The decorations, food, and everything else was great!!



Doctor's Appointment 7-12-11

I went in today for my check-up. Dr. Kirkman told me that her gut feeling is that she will be inducing me at 37 weeks. Because of the swelling and the fact that I'm a first time Mom and did IVF, she is pretty certain I will have developed preeclampsia/toxemia by then. I go back next Thursday for an appointment, and then the following week for another one and she will determine whether or not to make the appointment for an induction on August 2nd.
