Mom's 60th Birthday Party!! 2-5-11

We flew to Atlanta for the weekend to celebrate my Mom and Taylor's Birthdays last weekend and had a great time! Anne, Charlie, and John were all in town for the weekend as well. The party was an absolute blast. So many people came, and there were such nice tributes to my Mom  including a speech and song. It was great to see so many of my old neighbors, teachers, and friends. We were so glad that Ashley, Traci, and Chris made it as well. This weekend reaffirmed how wonderful a person my Mom is and how many people love her. I don't know how I'm ever going to be successful getting her and my Dad to move to Houston when they have so many wonderful friends in Georgia.

It's a Girl!! 2-10-11

Well the Chinese calendar and the heart beat old wives tale were both right...it's a girl!! We got the results from the Monday tests tonight. We were very relieved to get the following news:

Risk of Down Syndrome before the test was 1 in 692.
Risk of Down Syndrome after the test is now less than 1 in 10,000.

Risk of Trisomy 13 or 18 before the test was 1 in 1215.
Risk of Trisomy 13 or 18 after the test is now less than 1 in 10,000.

Gender Predition Test 2-8-11

Well since the Jack or Jill test ended up free and we won't hear back on it for about a week, so I figured I would buy the Gender Prediction urine test from Walgreens for fun (90% accurate). After I opened the box I read that results may not be accurate if you're taking antibiotics (which I am for my tooth). Since I couldn't return it and will be taking the antibiotics until the Jack or Jill test results come back, I went ahead and did it anyway this morning. So anyway, the results may not be correct, but here's what it said:

Ultra Screen & Blood Test (12 weeks) 2-7-11

Today Brett and I went to the Center for Medical Genetics to get an ultra screen and blood work done (results will indicate likelihood of certain genetic diseases and 99% accuracy on the sex). They said it will be 7-10 days before we get the results back, but we did get a few new pictures.
